If you go down to the parklands today...

Well it wasn't quite a teddy-bears' picnic but it was certainly a fun day out for everyone involved! Sunday, 29th August saw Lough Boora Parklands come alive with sights and sounds not normally to be found in the tranquil landscape.

The Rehab Waterways Adventure came to the parklands, bringing with it an incredible animal puppetry performance, facepainting, balloon modelling and crowds in their droves. Families enjoyed bike rides and walks, or took the bus provided to Pullagh, where they were treated to a tour of the unique Neuwe Zorgen.

Even the weather cooperated fully, providing beaming sunshine to illuminate the happy faces all around, and also a strong enough breeze for flying some colourful kites on the day!

The day was a huge success for fundraising, and also raising the profile of Rehab, who work in over 125 locations across Ireland, supporting more than 7,500 people in living more independent lives. Funds raised through the Waterways Adventure as a whole will go to support the development of Rehab’s vital services in local communities throughout Ireland.
