Boora Stacks

Boora Stacks at Lough Boora Parklands

Eleven former chimney stacks framed by douglas fir enriched by heather and birch.

Sculpture Concept

by sculptor:  Naomi Seki

"This work is one of my tree series. While working in the fabrication workshops of Boora Works I found some disused chimneystacks. I was attracted to their colour and texture. I decided to make a sculpture, which incorporated eleven of the former chimneystacks".

"The chimneys were filled with peat and set into a specially constructed wooden frame made of Douglas fir. I planted the stacks with heather and birch, both native to Lough Boora Parklands. My intention was to give life back to the chimneystacks within the landscape".
