Marianne Jorgensen
Marianne Jorgensen is well known for her large-scale works on art in Denmark. During her visit in May, Marian was inspired by the grave slabs, holy wells and rag trees of West Offaly. She will create a Secret Garden that will incorporate the imagery found in early Irish artwork in combination with modern day text. The artwork will span 200 metres along the cutaway bog.

Johan Sietzema
Johan Sietzema is a Dutch artist who works with natural materials to create site-specific environmental sculptures. His work has been exhibited in Holland, France, Switzerland, Germany, Italy and Belgium. Johan lives in the heart of the Dutch Peatlands and has participated in recent international peat sculpture symposiums including Art below Sea Level and Peatpolis. Johan intends to use the natural materials found in the Parklands for his sculpture:

Peat and art go hand in hand. Artists are moved by the mysteries of peat bogs. Using natural materials as accomplice, I intend to create a procession of bog trees coming out of the ground. A memory of the great forest that inhabited this landscape over 3,000 years ago.
