How often do you visit the parklands?

System No. 30 - Week 1

"System no. 30" by Julian Wild, involved welding scrap pieces of peat wagons and cutting machinery together that were once part of peat production at Lough Boora Parklands, to depict a disk that appears to bounce over the surface of the canal which looks like a serpentine form swimming across the surface of the canal.

In Week one of this three week series, the sculptor introduces us to the concept, the model prototype, the process and materials which will be used to make the sculpture come to life, as it moves from the workshop to the outdoors.

System No. 30 - Week 2

In Week two of this three week series, you can view first hand the relationship between the artist and the engineers as they assemble the various sections of the sculpture allowing it to evolve into a complete piece, and develop an identity of its own.

System No. 30 - Week 3

The final series of this three week series allows you to view the work involved in preparing the landscape for the new sculpture and installation, as the piece transfers from the workshop and takes its rightful position within the Lough Boora Parklands.
